Kucinich and the Empty Convention

Yahoo! News reports that Kucinich has really gotten the democrat base stirred up. Stirred up and motivated about everything wrong in America, but where are the answers from the left?

Gas prices are higher. So the logic goes, Republicans are in power, so blame them. Um, what about the Arabs that we buy the oil from? And which party went on vacation while the other stayed in the dark to come up with a bill to move toward energy solutions? Kucinich said, “We went into Iraq for oil. The oil companies want more. War against Iran will mean $10-a-gallon gasoline. The oil administration wants to drill more, into your wallet. Wake up, America!” He’s dead wrong. We didn’t go into Iraq for oil, we went to take out a dictatorship that was providing support to terrorists. I personally had a long talk with a soldier who went into the heart of Baghdad during the invasion and after, and he was furious that the media claims Bush sent us for oil when our troops turned the oil fields back over to the Iraqis! The Democrats don’t have a solution.

He said, “This administration can tap our phones but they can’t tap our creative spirit. They can open our mail but they can’t open economic opportunities. They can track our every move but they lost track of the economy.” Yes, a post 9-11 world has created needs for some uncomfortably invasive means, but the Dems would also criticize Republicans if another attack happened. May I remind you that this administration has also successfully prevented many other attacks from occuring? And what answers to the Democrats have for economic opportunities? Placing another level of insane taxation to bloat government to a greater girth, placing more strain on the economy?

“Up with peace!” Kucinich yelled to approving roars. “Up with prosperity! Up with education! Up with Democrats!” Do you want peace? Crush evil where it lies—that’s the McCain stance. We ignore it at our peril. Do you want prosperity? Return money to those who work for it, so they can spend and invest, and provide incentives for jobs to return to America. Do you want education? Let’s work to make it more affordable, but the left’s socialistic approach of free community college tuition will be unstable, inferior, and economically burdensome.

Up with the Democrats? Where are their answers? They give none.
